Sri Aurobindo, born 15th Aug.1872 was a great scholar, poet, mystic and evolutionary philosopher. After a short political career,he turned to the exploration of the subtle realms of human existence and developed a new spiritual path, which he termed integral yoga.The central theme of Sri Aurobindo’s vision is the evolution of life into a ‘life divine’.
Mother Meera was Sri Aurobindo’s close spiritual collaborator and was known as the mother. Born on feb 21, 1818 in Paris, she went to Pondicherry on March 29th 1914, finally settling in 1920. Aurobindo considered her his spiritual equal and went into seclusion after Nov.24, 1926 leaving the responsibility of running the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.
